Data Souvenir emerges from a desire to explore the critical potential of design through the resignification of the tourist souvenir, transforming it into a device of sensibilization that directly addresses the tourist and questions the dynamics of mass tourism in the city of Barcelona.

Through an iterative process of research, analysis, and design, a collection of ten souvenirs, one for each district of the city, has been developed as visual and material artefacts capable of revealing complex urban phenomena. Every formal, material, and graphic decision is aimed at reinforcing the project’s critical narrative and establishing a symbolic relationship between object, territory, and tourist experience.

In this way, design is not understood as a neutral tool of representation, but as a medium through which to pose questions, unsettle dominant gazes, and activate critical reflection within the framework of contemporary urban consumption.

OVAL



Artwork by Marc Blanch: 3D & graphic design.
A piece created from a collection of fragments that try to show what Barcelona sounds like. It is also the OVAL proposal for We (Love) TheArt, an initiative of the Optimism Foundation.

The artwork takes inspiration from the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion; an iconic architectural representation of the city, built to be exhibited to the world at the International Exhibition of 1929. A tribute to Barcelona's industrial heritage and cultural journey.
